Catch Curve Announces License Agreement with Interstar
Technologies and Settles Dispute with Smith Micro
Atlanta, Ga.—May 10, 2006—Catch Curve, Inc., an intellectual property development and licensing firm, today announced that Interstar Technologies, Inc. and Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMSI) have taken licenses to the AudioFAX™ patent portfolio. Under the license agreements, the new licensees have obtained a non-exclusive license to use the AudioFAX technology. The license with Smith Micro settles the pending patent infringement litigation between the two parties. Specific terms of the license agreements were not disclosed.
The AudioFAX patents cover a broad range of inventions that incorporate fax store-and-forward technologies. These technologies are used in products and services such as fax-to-email, fax broadcasting, fax-on-demand and "real-time" fax over the Internet.
Since its inception, the AudioFAX Patent Licensing Program has licensed this technology to more than 40 companies, including AT&#amp;T, MCI, Cisco, Sprint, WorldCom, NEC, Cable &#amp; Wireless, 3Com, j2 Global Communications, Mitel, Captaris, Intervoice, LogicaCMG, Siemens, Premiere Global Services (formerly PTEK), Glenayre, and Interactive Intelligence, among others.
