Catch Curve Acquires AudioFAX and E-Mate Patent Portfolios
Atlanta - February 28, 2005 - Catch Curve, Inc., an intellectual property development and licensing company based in Atlanta, today announced that it has acquired the AudioFAX and E-mate patent portfolios.
The AudioFAX portfolio, which has been the center of an active licensing program since 1997, covers a range of inventions that incorporate fax store-and-forward technologies. The E-mate portfolio covers use of an adapter to turn faxes into electronic files and deliver them by email, without the sender needing a computer. Together, these portfolios consist of nine issued U.S. patents, four issued foreign patents and eight pending U.S. and foreign applications.
The AudioFAX patent portfolio consists of over 400 issued claims. It has been validated by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office through two separate re-examination proceedings. To date, over 30 companies have licensed the AudioFAX technology, including 3Com, AT&T, Cable & Wireless, Captaris, Cisco Systems, Interactive Intelligence, Intervoice, j2 Global Communications, MCI, Mitel, NEC, Premiere Technologies (PTEK), Siemens and Sprint.
Catch Curve has engaged IPAC LLC to continue to act as licensing agent for the AudioFAX portfolio. IPAC, an intellectual property licensing, investment and asset management company based in Atlanta, has administered the AudioFAX licensing program since its inception.
